Teneriffe was my first home in Brisbane. Long time Brisbane residents often looked askance when I nominated that address, but that’s not an issue now for anyone lucky enough to call Teneriffe home!
The secret is well and truly out about this exciting and vibrant community.

I’m proud to be the Brisbane City Council representative for the area where this festival is taking place and to be helping secure services like arguably the City’s best public transport connection The City Glider and which will be complemented in the near future with a dedicated CityCat terminal, providing a CityCat connection to the city.

After the amazing success of the inaugural Teneriffe Festival with more than 30,000 visitors, no one can be in any doubt that this is a top class festival centred on a very special and much loved part of historic Brisbane.

Not only is it an area of immense history as the centre of Australia’s wool trade, but it is now a pulsating and vibrant heart of Brisbane’s modern urban renewal with thousands of young residents as well as empty nesters keen to soak up the vibe of Teneriffe.

It’s now more than 150 years since James Gibbon built Teneriffe House, perched high on Teneriffe Hill. I’m sure he’d approve of how his beloved suburb has evolved. This year’s festival promises to build on last year’s extraordinary success.

FESTIVAL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

The Teneriffe Festival Inc. is a not for profit organisation managed by a group of volunteer professionals.

The day is made possible thanks to the efforts of the management committee and the team of individuals who give up their time before, during and after the event. This year's board brings together experience, creativity and dedication to build the popular event.

The board not only organises the event itself but organises sponsorship, publicity and marketing in the lead up to the Teneriffe Festival.

Please see our COMMITTEE page for details on the organising committee.
