The London Woolstores will come alive with paintings-in-motion especially created by internationally acclaimed artist Matt Sheridan.
Exchange(s) – a painting-in-motion video animation projection – has been especially created for the Teneriffe Festival. In Exchange(s) three triangular constructions thrust into folds and textures, careen through each other, and occasionally exchange parts as they roll across the building’s facade. Its triangular sail-shape forms, rolling movements and trading of shapes are symbolic of Teneriffe’s history as the centre of the industrial trade and naval defence. Exchange(s) animated tech also celebrates the bright future of interactive trade in Teneriffe, whose converted industrial spaces have become the domestic brains trust of creatively and design.
Projection will begin across the facade of the London Wool Stores building during the festival, entertaining and delighting audiences on Vernon Terrace (and from the air…) before becoming incorporated into a live show in the London Laneway.
In addition to Exchange(s), Sheridan will VJ a live, mixed painting-in-motion video installation, which becomes the backdrop for the Long Table dinner in the London Laneway. This is a one-time only and uniquely live performance of a long play edit of his previous video art works, which have been exhibited across the globe.
