Canadian born Garrett Kato made Byron Bay his home in 2011 and has been spreading his heartfelt vocals and eerie guitar tones throughout Australia ever since.
He cemented his place in current Australian folk/pop at festivals like Bluesfest and Splendour in the Grass, and now comes forth with a new single UFOS (premiered this week on Triple J) from his upcoming album titled That Low and Lonesome Sound.
Singles like Hipster Kids prove Kato is no stranger to experimentation and he develops his sound even further with UFOS. This airy track is full of pulsating synth, dreamy guitar and a sweeping drum beat. Treading the line between melancholy and a serene dream, Kato shows us the scope of his meticulous song-writing in a first taste of what's sure to be a fanciful debut album.
