Lily Hubbard & Adam McMillan
Having both performed as soloists with the Tagiev Youth Chamber Orchestra in China, Spain, Estonia and at Carnegie Hall, New York City, Lily & Adam have just released their debut CD, “From our Hearts to Yours” - a collection of beautiful cello and piano favourites. They are using this CD to raise money for HeartKids Queensland.
Their youthful, spirited and passionate playing, yet at times so sensitive and nuanced, has already touched many hearts. Their new CD grew from Elizabeth and Adam’s desire to share their joy of music with others and to make a real difference in the community.

Stemming from Brisbane’s popular operatic ensemble ‘belladiva’, the girls of Brisbane collective ‘babooshka’ feature the music of Kurt Weill and Dvorak to Gotye and Kylie Minogue in a contemporary opera cabaret that divulges all its secrets, and urges you to do the same! So as the afternoon creeps over the festival; venture if you dare into London Laneway, and join the divas for an afternoon of saucy secrets, heartbreaking loss, and operatic cabaret secrets at their best."
belladiva presents babushka - the passionate lovechild of the divas' obsession with operatic prima donnas and the cabaret femme fatale. Pushing the boundaries of traditional opera through their unique crossover arrangements, this is a quartet of sopranos with a whole lot of sass and more high C's than you can poke a stick at. Their performances explore the spectrum of theatrical music from full-blown operatic arias, cabaret tearjerkers to 4-part a cappella pop tunes. Since bonding in opera class at the Queensland Conservatorium with soprano identity crisis syndrome, the girls have performed live to more than 60 000 people nationwide, including appearances at Brisbane Festival, QPAC Queensland Pops Orchestra concerts and the nationally-televised Carols in the City.

Brieley Cutting & Angela Turner
Twenty fingers on one piano! "Angela Turner and Brieley Cutting managed extremely well, given the issues of scale and interpretation, as well as needing to achieve balance, speed and clarity between players. Both introduced excellent orchestral colour and texture into their playing with exciting juxtaposition of two separate "orchestral" stands working against each other and then magically arriving in harmony at the end of movements. Brieley Cutting is the Artistic Director of the Commercial Road Chamber Music Series and has given solo and chamber music performances in London, Europe, and New Zealand, and performances in Australia for Musica Viva, 4MBS radio, ABC radio and television. Selected competition successes include second prize in the international 2010 Kerikeri National Piano Competition in New Zealand and she was a Grand Finalist in the 2006 Symphony Australia Young Performer of the Year Award. Brieley holds postgraduate degrees from the Royal College of Music, London, and the Queensland Conservatorium. As piano soloist and chamber musician, Angela Turner has performed throughout Australia, England and Taiwan, and been broadcast on ABC-Classic FM and 4MBS-FM radio. In 2003, completed her Master of Music with full scholarship on exchange at the Royal College of Music, London, studying with Yonty Solomon. A respected teacher, Angela currently lectures across a range of practical and academic areas at the Queensland Conservatorium.
The O'Connor / Wengrow Duo
Recently featuring in the Valley Jazz Festival 2011, Joseph O’Connor and James Wengrow began collaborating in 2008, playing original compositions and jazz standards that exploit the unique possibilities of the piano and guitar combination.
Catherine Guinevere Lynagh
Local singer/song-writer, Catherine Guinevere, studied classical piano at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. Her songs weave her love of classical music with her love of folk, Swedish pop and alternative music. Her songs vary in style and feel from ballads to burlesque. She is joined on stage by friend and fellow musician, Emma Baker (of The Red Paintings), as a number of her songs she has written for one piano, four hands.
Clare Reynolds & Mark Sholtez
‘The Distance Between Two Truths’, released July 2011, is the latest album from Mark Sholtez after recent successes including touring as opening act with STING this year in Australia. In 2006, his jazz-inspired debut 'Real Street' became an ARIA Top 30 album and also debuting in the ARIA Jazz and Blues chart at #1 where it stayed for ten consecutive weeks. It was nominated for an ARIA award in that same year, and in 2007 won him a converted APRA Music Award.
A lot has happened since Clare Reynold’s debut album ‘Inside My Head’. One song from the album was played on the hit TV show, Private Practice, and another was picked up for the official trailer of an Uma Thurman movie. Her second album ‘Colour My Heart’ released June 2011, is another independent release from this Australian singer/songwriter. Clare has recently started ‘The Round’ – a weekly showcase of singer-songwriters in a bar in Paddington.
