Included in the opening ceremony of the Teneriffe Festival the ‘Running of the Rams’ is a great way to kick off the festivities for the day. The Running of the Rams is a fun, energetic and fast-paced event and best of all…. It’s extremely entertaining.

Starting at the top of Ethel Street, all competitors sprint down Ethel Street, continuing on to the main road of the festival along Vernon Terrance and then finish in front of the Mactaggarts car park.

All members of the public are invited to be a part of the race and while we urge people to register online at www.teneriffefestival.org, the registration desk will also open for late registrations on the day.

Dress for Success:
The Running of the Rams would not be complete or as memorable without the competitors dressing up in their most creative and crazy ‘Ram’ costumes. A great stash of prizes is on offer for best costume entries.

Every competitor has the opportunity to win one of the amazing prizes that are up for grabs including winning the title of the 2011 Running of the Rams Champion. The award ceremony will take place on the Main Stage of the festival after the official opening ceremony from the Governor General Penelope Wensley.

The Running of the Rams will be bigger, better and woollier than last year and we look forward to seeing you there!
