BRISBANE COUNTS DOWN TO FOODIE FERVOUR
Teneriffe Festival’s ‘Tastes of Teneriffe’
is when Brisbane’s love of food and wine comes alive;
join in!
The second annual Teneriffe Festival on Saturday 2nd July invites fun-loving foodies to prime their tastebuds and clear their diaries as the countdown begins to Brisbane’s newest celebration of food and wine. In just a few weeks, the Festival will bring food and wine to the streets of Teneriffe, highlighting local eateries, local celebrity chefs and plenty of good food ideas.
Tastes of Teneriffe will be a true expression of Teneriffe’s infamous love of food and wine that captures the attention of food-lovers everywhere. There will be a stunning array of food and wine events happening throughout the event, ready to satisfy your every taste!
Take your pick from alfresco events and taste your way around Teneriffe. With over a dozen different food events and feasts, there’s something to please every palate.
'Dishing Up' a 'Feast on Florence Street' will be Mark and Mary Maric’s ‘Dish Bistro.’ They plan two sessions of a Mediterranean-style Long Table just like the Piazzas of the famous festivals of Southern Europe.
They will also be running food stalls along Florence Street for those who would like a quick bite on the run. Dish Bistro will be open on the day for breakfast from 7.30am and for lunch and dinner offering both a la carte and tapas menus.
Claret House in the London Quarter will be providing their regular European-style fare, with an extensive and unique array of wines on offer, as well as hosting a special Brazilian barbeque on the day.
As always, Claret House offers a great place to sit with a beverage and watch the world go by.
The London Club goes all boutique on us with a great line up of craft beers and mini-Moets. They’re also putting together a special event menu matched to the craft beers.
Aqua Linea’s offering is still high in everyone’s memories from last year’s Festival. With bubbles galore from Veuve Cliquot and buckets of prawns and oysters to satiate the hunger, the riverside restaurant will be a stylish reprieve from the crowds.
Eves on the River will delight patrons with their top-of-the-line menu, jazz music and a view of the river from every seat in the restaurant.
Eves always proves to be a popular breakfast and lunch venue, so bookings for the day of the festival are advised.
But make a progressive feast of the day and try the sweet treats from Passione Gelateria & Dessert Bar – Teneriffe’s newest dessert cafe, where they make real Italian gelato and cocktails. Many a patron raves about Passione’s waffles, so save room from the previous feasts for their show-stopping desserts.
Liquid and Salon on Florence Street will be providing liquid refreshments throughout the day. Both bars have been long-term establishments in the community and are a great place to sit and soak up the atmosphere.
Sip Cafe, on Vernon Terrace, has fast become a local favourite for coffee and light snacks. They have recently begun serving a variety of breakfast eggs and will be open from 7am on the day of the Festival. They will also have a food stall on Vernon Terrace, which will include bacon and eggs rolls and their full range of toasted ciabattas and of course coffee.
And just in case you felt you needed to actually do something to work up an appetite, cooking classes will be run throughout the day, hosted by local chefs and a ‘Ready, Steady, Cook-off’ will be a culinary highlight, matching the talents of local chefs.
